Mounting Windows file servers on Mac OS X

  • Open Finder
  • Select Go → Connect to Server (or command + k)
  • Enter smb://ServerName/ShareName
    • From within the DHE firewall (I.e., if connected to clubs wireless network or using DHE VPN.)
      smb://munin.dhe.duke.edu/Data or
      smb://munin3.dhe.duke.edu/Data
      • Currently the Data shares are only accessible from within DHE
    • From outside the DHE firewall
      smb://munin.biac.duke.edu/ShareName or
      smb://munin2.biac.duke.edu/ShareName or
      smb://munin3.biac.duke.edu/ShareName or
      smb://munin4.biac.duke.edu/ShareName
      • Replace ShareName with your actual share name
      • Make sure you specify the correct server (munin, munin2, munin3 or munin4)
  • Enter your DHE account credentials (set domain to DHE if needed)
  • Select which share you would like to mount
