• The BIAC cluster has a separate password than your BIAC Window's account
• If you do not already have an account see: Requesting a Cluster Account
• You can only change your password on the head node ( hugin ), this is because the nature of the read/only filesystem that the cluster uses.
• The command for changing your password is “passwd”

ReadOnly operating system, please change your password on the head node
passwords are automatically sync'd every 10 minutes

• Password restrictions: minimum length = 8, atleast one of all of these ( uppercase, lowercase, digit, symbol )
• Passwords expire every 180 days ( same interval as your window's account )
• Notice the error message pointing me to the head node
• Once you change your password on the head node there could be a slight delay in the new password taking effect for interactive sessions.
• Passwords are sync'd automatically across the cluster operating systems every 10 minutes. If you find that your new password doesn't work immediately, please continue to use the old password, or wait for the sync.
• If you've forgotten your password you can email help@biac.duke.edu to request a reset
