usage: -correlate [phase] [file] ref [name] name wsiz

• CORRELATE -Calculates correlation statistics for each temporal signal in the current active data set, compared to a reference time course.
• REF -The reference is usually a single time course that will be correlated with every voxel of the input data set. Any temporal data array can be specified by name. If REF is omitted, the most recent time course specified by the most recent -reference command will be used by default. If the “file” option is specified, however, REF is assumed to be a 4-D data set with a different reference time course for each voxel. If the refernce time course is shorter than the time course of the current active data set, the reference will be repeated as many times as needed to generate a complete reference waveform.
• PHASE -If the “phase” option is specified, a cross correlation will be performed to produce both correlation and phase maps. That is done by repeatedly correlating the input data with the reference time course, shifting (rotating) the reference by one time point each time. Values in the resulting correlation map reflect the maximum correlation value obtained for each voxel, and values in the phase map indicate how many time points the reference needed to be shifted to obtain that maximum correlation.

Note: If “verbose” appears immediately after CORRELATE, the command will display image sorting information before it executes.
