In order to use various BIAC computer systems, you will need a DHE account. Also refer to the following forum post for details on password changes. See also Account Passwords.

• DHE Account - Duke Health Enterpise (DHE) account; used to log on to all BIAC computers, including the BIAC Compute Cluster and the Scheduling Calendar and Time Card System.
  Also known as an Enterprise Active Directory (EAD) account. Your DHE account username will be the same as your NetID (or possibly DEMPO ID, for existing DHE accounts). Your DHE and NetID passwords are also synchronized.

• Multi-Factor Authentication - The medical center requires multi-factor authentication (MFA) to access certain resources (mostly things that are outside of the medical center firewall, but that can reach inside the firewall, such as VPN access and the BIAC cluster). Please register for Duo Security MFA, if you haven't already been required to do so.

• BIAC Computer Access - Use your DHE account to log on to BIAC computers. If you need access to BIAC computers, send an email to help@biac.duke.edu. Please include the following information:
  • First name
  • Preferred name (nickname)
  • Last name
  • Duke NetID (required; request one here)
  • DHE account (required; when requesting NetID at above link, also specify you need a DHE account)
  • Duke Unique ID (7-digit number on the back of your Duke ID)
  • Duke Card # (if you need card key access; 9-digit number on the back of your Duke ID)
  • Institution (Duke, UNC, Other-specify)
  • Department (BIAC, CCN, Radiology, Psychology, Psychiatry, Other-specify)
  • Position (Faculty, Staff, Postdoc, Grad Student, Undergrad, Fellow, Resident, Med Student, Other)
  • Current Email Address (Duke or UNC address preferred)
  • Renewal period (3/6/9/12 months)
  • BIAC Sponsor (BIAC faculty/staff/postdoc or other faculty running an experiment at BIAC)
  • BIAC Sponsor Email
  • Please have your Sponsor send us a confirmation email.

• BIAC Compute Cluster Access - Use your DHE account to log on to the BIAC Linux Cluster.
  All registered BIAC Users will have usage privileges.

• Trouble Ticket Access - Only for Trouble Tickets and Exam Tracker
  Use your DHE account to login. You must already have a DHE account and be a valid BIAC user. If you cannot see all the experiments you should have access to please email help@biac.duke.edu.

• BIAC Wiki Access - Use your DHE account to log on to the wiki.
  Registered BIAC users will have access to all the non private pages. If there is private lab section you should have access to, please email help@biac.duke.edu, and CC the PI of the lab to be granted permission.

• DHE VPN Access - Used for remote access to DHE networks. Use your DHE account.
  Requires MFA (see above). Send an email to help@biac.duke.edu requesting VPN access. Please include your DHE username in the email. VPN Download How to Install and Login to the Duke Health Virtual Private Network (VPN) AnyConnect

• BIAC Forums Account - Only for the BIAC forums
  You may register online. Your forums account username may be different from your other usernames.
