ShowPlay Reference Manual, Chapter 2 (Running): runningshowtime

Running ShowTime --

ShowTime is an obsolete program developed by Greg McCarthy and Francis Favorini at Yale. This page describes how ShowTime input files can be automatically converted to a Showplay paradigm.

In order to run a ShowTime file in ShowPlay you simply need to set a few parameters that ShowPlay would normally expect to find in a parameter file. This means that when you load the ShowTime stimulus specification file you will also be asked a few questions. Once you've answered those questions you can go ahead and run just as with a standard ShowPlay file.

To run a ShowTime file using the ShowPlay pull-down menu, choose:

"Load ShowTime file" (then answer the questions)
"Save ShowPlay file" (save parameters in a new file)
   "Run"

The “Save ShowPlay file” line effectively creates a ShowTime paradigm into a ShowPlay paradigm by creating a ShowPlay parameter file that points to the ShowTime file. You don't have to do this step but it saves you having to answer the parameter questions every time you run this paradigm. You can edit the new parameter file you've just created if you want to set additional parameters.

Note: See the note about SHOWBITS above.
