Chapter 4 -- Stimulus Events
Showplay real-time paradigms are designed to execute a sequence of stimulus events. These events are listed in a Stimulus Table specified in a paradigm parameter file (PPF). In the stimulus table, the first column specifies the stimulus type (usually a character string) and the remaining columns specify the timing and other control arguments for that stimulus.
There are 3 categories of stimulus events: Stimulus Files, Text strings, Event Commands. The following list summarizes all 3 types (click a link for details):

backcolor | Change the default back color |
bdraw | Draw an empty box |
bfill | Draw a filled box |
color | Change the default front, back, and text colors |
edraw | Draw an empty ellipse (or circle) |
efill | Draw a filled ellipse (or circle) |
erase | Erase the screen (set to back color) |
fix | Display a fixation cross |
font | Change the default text font |
forecolor | Change the default graphics color |
line | Draw a line |
meter | Draw a real-time response meter |
owait | Wait for an operator response |
quit | Exit the paradigm |
reset | Reset the time base |
rwait | Wait for a subject response |
textcolor | Change the default text color |
twait | Wait for a trigger |
user1 | User defined stimulus 1 |
user2 | User defined stimulus 2 |
user3 | User defined stimulus 3 |
vwait | Wait for a variable value |
writeport | Write to a communications port |
