fScan Reference Manual, Chapter 1 (Topics): Images

Images -- Using image data

Images in Workspace Files

To create a Workspace file, open fScan using the command:

 fscan filename1 ... filenameX -D
or
fscan * -D (fScan will open all files for which it recognizes the file format)

Once fScan has opened, several Anatomical and Functional files will be listed in the main menu. Click 'Show' to open all windows. From here, it is possible to eliminate unnecessary files simply by closing the corresponding window (click the 'X' close icon in the window corner or enter 'q'). If you have multiple versions of the same files (e.g. series 3 and 300 for unenhanced and “Clariview” enhanced anatomical images) you may want to close the less useful version. For the functional files, you may or may not want to include different versions (e.g. raw, preprocessed) in your workspace. Close any windows you don't want in the workspace.

Once you have the windows you want, select the “File” taskbar and click the “WDF” icon, then enter the Workspace file name (e.g. “exam.wdf”).

To skip the interactive steps above, you could explicitly list which files you want on the command line and include the -output command, as in:

 fscan filename1 ... filenameX -o exam.wdf
